2. Electrical & Electronic Engineering – Course Code: ETC 02.1

Objective:
On completion of the course, student should be able to acquire knowledge, skills and develop attitudes required for Technical Officers in the Electrical and Electronic Engineering field.

Entry Qualifications:
1. G.C.E. (O/L) Examination in six (6) subjects in not more than two sittings.
    Six subjects shall be:
    (a) Sinhala/Tamil/English Language
    (b) Mathematics and Science.
    (c) Three other subjects; or equivalent qualifications.
                or
Have passed the National Certificate in Engineering Craft Practice - NCECP (Radio, TV & electronics/Electrician) two years full time day course conducted by Technical Colleges under the Department of Technical Education and training.
                or
Equalant qualifications.
                and

2. Age should not be less than 17 years. Candidates must be employed in the relevant fields.         (Electrical/Electronic/Telecommunication)

How to qualify:
New syllabus: Academic three years, candidates should be completed compulsory eighteen subjects in new syllabus.
Old syllabus : First year & second year all modules are compulsory for entry to the third year of the course and Minimum requirement to qualify for the certificate, Student must obtain passes in any four subjects listed for 3rd year.


Career Prospects:
On successful completion of the course, the students will be able to get promotions in their carrier and also to find employment in government organizations, local and foreign industries as Technical Officers and Assistant Engineers.

Maradana, Ratmalana, Homagama, Gampaha, Kalutara, Kandy, Nuwara Eliya,
Galle, Matara, Trincomalee, Badulla, Kurunegala, Kuliyapitiya, Anuradhapura,
Ratnapura, Kegalle and Warakapola.

Conducted in Tamil Medium at following technical colleges:

Jaffna, Sammanthurai and Trincomalee.

Total Hours: Designed for new syllabus 1296 hours, and completed in1080 hours for the old syllabus.
